Bio: Ali is a builder and leader of high-performance finance and operations for early and growth-stage companies spanning cleantech, digital music, software, fintech, marketing, and more. As a serial startup CFO, he has executed financial modeling, transactions, and post-merger integrations.
In 1997, Ali joined Microsoft, leading developer evangelism and competitive engagement for East Coast enterprise sales and consulting teams. He later oversaw product management and the launch of Microsoft’s SharePoint business, as well as strategic planning and growth for Microsoft’s $10B Office business. He also was responsible for M&A due diligence and post-merger management for Microsoft’s venture acquisitions.
Ali subsequently joined the Global Technology Investment Banking group at Lehman Brothers, providing M&A and corporate finance advisory. He later joined the next-generation biofuels company Primafuel, a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer, where he led fundraising and infrastructure projects. In 2011, he joined SecondMarket as Senior Vice President, facilitating $2B+ in secondary transactions for the world’s best venture-backed private companies. He then joined Movable Ink as CFO, producing record growth and profitability for the marketing personalization company. He also served as CFO of Olapic, a visual marketing leader that he helped sell to Monotype in 2016. Ali earned his BSE in Electrical Engineering from Duke and is now a regional board member for Duke New York. His MBA is from the Wharton School of Business, with a concentration on finance and entrepreneurship.

Bio: Greg is a highly accomplished executive with experience in corporate leadership, business development, startups, M&A, strategic planning, and more. He has spent much of his career growing business in the electrical products, packaging, and chemical industries. Throughout, he has been buying, selling, and combining companies to fit strategic goals. Previously, Greg served as President and CEO of 2D2C, developing safer energy-saving products. Greg was also VP Corporate Development and Acting Division President for a high-tech subsidiary at Woodhead Industries and Director Corporate Development for Tenneco. Greg has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin (’86) and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University.

Bio: Dave has held operating roles in sales and business development at venture-backed companies focused on digital health (Zocdoc) and enterprise cloud software (Shibumi). He has also invested as a Venture Partner at NextGen and an LP at CRE Venture Capital. Dave began his career in investment banking and corporate strategy at Deutsche Bank. He has a BA in Economics from Brown.

Bio: Anton has 20+ years of technology experience as a proven venture capital investor, entrepreneur and operating executive in companies ranging in size from start-up to Fortune 10. Most recently, Anton founded and led Vener8 Technologies, a technology commercialization company he started with GE. Previously in his career, Anton led the Software and Internet Infrastructure Group at GE Equity where he directly invested $72 million in 10 companies generating more than $500 million of realized gains. Anton has substantial international experience in Canada, China, Europe and Israel, and has served on the board of directors of more than 20 private and public companies. Anton has a BSc. Engineering from Queen’s University in Canada, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Bio: Keith Angell is CEO of West Shore Advisors, LLC and has been a C-Level executive in 6 successful VC/PE backed, high growth technology companies (2 IPO, 4 Acq). Most recently, as CEO of Velocity Technology, Keith directed the leading global cloud managed services company, specializing in moving complex enterprise workloads to the private, public & hybrid cloud. Prior to Velocity, Keith was President of Global Services at Virtustream (sold to EMC) and spent 9 years as an executive in IBM’s Global Cloud & Technology Services. Over the previous 14 years, Keith held CEO, COO, President, and SVP roles at 4 software/services technology & consulting firms. He started his career in the management development program at Exxon Corp. Keith holds BS Engineering magna cum laude (Duke), MS Engineering (Northeastern) & MBA Finance (LSU) degrees.

Bio: Hosea Chang is the Chief Operating Officer for Hayden Los Angeles and an investor in early stage companies focused primarily on SaaS/B2B companies that help other businesses scale quickly by fully utilizing software-based solutions. Previously, at Shearman & Sterling, Clifford Chance, and most recently at Cooley, Hosea was a capital markets lawyer helping companies across a range of sectors raise institutional capital all over the globe and guiding clients through the IPO process. Hosea also contributes to the business community in Los Angeles as a member of the Forbes Los Angeles Business Council. Hosea holds a B.A. in Political Science from Duke University, a M.A. in International Relations from Yonsei University and a J.D. from American University.

Bio:Carl Chiou has 15 years of experience in investment banking, the past 8 based in Silicon Valley where he has held various capital markets leadership roles with Barclays and William Blair. At William Blair, he is head of Technology Equity Capital Markets, with responsibility for identifying and taking the next generation of Tech leaders public. Carl started his career in the software industry, as an early employee at both MicroStrategy and Appian. He is a graduate of Duke University (BS Chemistry) and The University of Chicago Booth School of Business (MBA).

Bio: Michael Levy is a Director and founding member of KPMG’s Power & Utilities Strategy practice. He closely works with utilities, private equity firms, and energy portfolio companies engaged in the energy transition with expertise in regulatory finance, grid & asset analytics, battery storage, and electric vehicles. Michael has a MBA from Duke University and a BS in Industrial Engineering with highest honors from Georgia Tech. He lives in Atlanta with his wife, two dogs, and enjoys spending weekends on the lake.

Bio: Say is a physician by background, and worked in FDA compliance before graduating from her MBA from Duke, obtaining double certifications in Health Sector Management and Science & Technology Management. Say is enthusiastic about startups, especially in the biotech, healthcare, and sustainability space. In her free time, Say enjoys hiking in the mountains of Montana.

Bio: Gerald (DL’18) is a consultant with Fallone SV, a founder-focused law firm offering strategy and legal advice to startups in the Research Triangle and California. Previously, he was a Strategy & Corporate Development Associate at a biotech firm specializing in the acquisition, commercialization and divestment of viable IP. Prior to that, he was part of the founding team and Chief Operating Officer of a venture-backed real estate tech company in the co-living space. Gerald holds an LLM in Law & Entrepreneurship from Duke Law School and a JD, MBA and B.A. from USC.

Bio: Jonathan is currently a Technology Business Analyst with S&P Global where he helps the Company’s mission to “power the markets of the future” by managing costs as part of the strategy to grow our cloud footprint and analyzing KPIs that benchmark operational and financial performance across all technology towers. Previously, Jonathan worked as an Analyst at the ground floor of WeFund Health, a healthtech startup, where he helped launch the platform’s minimum viable product while also owning product marketing, strategy and operations roles. Aside from being a Venture Fellow with Towerview Ventures, he also is the Operations Lead for Wemultiply, a NYC-based growth marketing and innovation strategy consultancy focused on helping venture-backed startups in emerging markets like blockchain, crypto and cannabis. Jonathan is an avid basketball fan and cycling enthusiast (when the weather in NYC gets to be nice).

Bio: Doreen is passionate about social entrepreneurship and creating a global sustainable future together. She is a management and technology consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, advising clients on infrastructure, energy, and the environment. Doreen currently serves on the firm’s Sustainability Community of Practice Steering Committee. Doreen is also the Vice Chair of the Marketing and Communications Section in Women’s Council on Energy and the Environment (WCEE), a nonprofit based in Washington, DC. Doreen holds a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from UC Berkeley and MEng in Environmental Engineering from Duke University.

Bio: Prior to joining AVG, Chris was a Customer Advocate at Graphic Packaging and in Sales & Marketing at Putnam Investments, where he created materials for reps and investors. He’s a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Manning School of Business, where he studied Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurial Studies.

Bio: Previously, Anne was an Applied Behavioral Analysis Counselor for Melmark and a medical biller for Physicians Resources. She is also a certified Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, with her own clientele. Anne has a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire.

Bio: Prior to joining AVG, Jenna was an Investor Service Representative at Putnam Investments, where she provided customer support to both clients and brokers. Jenna is a graduate of Merrimack College, Girard School of Business, where she studied Business Administration with a dual major in Management and Marketing.

Bio: Prior to joining AVG, Jordan worked in consumer and commercial lending with New Hampshire based firms. A Massachusetts native, Jordan graduated with honors from Plymouth State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a focus in business law.

Bio: Taylor graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a B.S. in Finance/Economics. Prior to joining Alumni Ventures Group, Taylor spent the early part of his career at Fidelity Investments as a licensed Financial Advisor, providing existing 401k clients with financial planning advice.

Bio: Prior to joining AVG, Hilary was a Staffing Executive and Program Manager at Robert Half. Previous positions include Retirement Planning & Guidance Consultant for Fidelity and an Investor Assistant for an independent investor. She has a Bachelor of Science, Business Management & Marketing from Fisher College.

Bio: Jamie was the Clinical Secretary Sr for Pediatric Gastroenterology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. Earlier, he served as a Claims Processor Associate and then a Senior Associate at Cigna Health. He has also served in multiple church youth ministries for over 15 years throughout Ontario, Canada, in many different cultural contexts. He was part of the adjunct faculty in the youth ministry department at Tyndale University College. He has a BA in Psychology from York University, a Masters of Divinity from Tyndale Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary.
